This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary
awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently
sweep your house empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Why here?
You are here because, like all of us at one or other time, you find yourself, now, in a time of suffering.
Every problem is an invitation.
Facing and solving relational and emotional difficulties is a necessary process because avoidance results in ongoing pain and the inability to grow.
Honouring the times of fragility and exploring the causes of suffering, can afford opportunities for learning, growth and transition, creating ripples of healing throughout families, communities and down generational lines.
So, if you are willing to explore, willing to learn, willing to try, willing to be vulnerable, welcome.
We Now Know
Current neuroscience and research teach us the influence of the emotional mind on the body and vice versa. It has revealed the way that trauma impacts us and offered opportunities for healing. Early relationships and attachment dynamics impact our psyches and reveal themselves in our current relationships and our ability to navigate difficulties.
I have learnt how to work with these dynamics and with compassionate understanding, to allow the unsuccessful strategies we may have developed to meet our vulnerable needs, to be replaced with successful and positive strategies.
We Now Know:
-
How to begin healing the trauma stored in the body.
-
How to set up more fluid and functional dances with our partners and within our familial relationships.
-
How to be more effective in our lives.
